Services we provide
The maternal mental health team can work with you before and after your pēpi is born, along with your partner and whānau.
Our services include:
- specialist assessments
- treatment and planning
- individualised support and therapy
- medication reviews and advice
- mental health information
- information about community support services.
We also work with other healthcare providers you may be receiving care from.
What you can expect if you use our service
Once we have accepted your referral from a healthcare provider, we will arrange a time to meet with you to complete an assessment.
The assessment usually takes about 90 minutes. It can be done at either:
- our office in Hania St in Wellington
- one of the community bases closer to where you live
- your home.
If we assess that we are the service best placed to help you and you agree, we will develop a plan for the care and treatment you need. We encourage you and your whānau to take part in developing the plan.
If we are not the best service for you, we will provide you with information about other services that may help you.
