Our services
We provide a range of treatment and support services for people with eating disorders — from diet advice and support through to residential care.
Therapy
Our therapists can provide individual, group or family therapy. Individual therapy is the most common.
Our clinicians are trained in a range of individual therapies. They will see you at our clinic in Johnsonville, Wellington.
If you are under 18 and living at home, we recommend family based therapy (FBT). Our family-centred treatment is called the Maudsley model. It empowers your whānau to be closely involved in your recovery process. It involves all whānau members living at home.
Clinical services
- Our dietitian will provide information and advice about healthy eating and nutrition. They will also monitor your weight and eating patterns.
- Our psychiatrist is available to carry out psychiatric assessments, and in some cases prescribe medication.
You will be required to have your physical health monitored by your GP or other healthcare provider.
Day programme
The day programme provides intensive therapy and meal support.
Our supportive environment will help you with your eating disorder by helping you to regulate and normalise your eating behaviours.
The team will talk with you about how your illness developed, so they can support you to build on your strengths and to learn new ways of coping.
The number of days you attend the programme is flexible and depends on your needs.
Residential services
Our 6-bed residence provides a welcoming and homely environment for you and your visitors. When you come into the residence, you will start with a 2-week assessment. You are likely to stay for 2 to 3 months. The residential stay will be only part of your recovery.
The residence operates 7 days a week and is staffed 24 hours a day.
Referral information
To access our service, you need a referral from your healthcare provider. They will complete a medical assessment form. You will need to complete a self-assessment form.
Once we have received your forms, we will contact you directly to arrange a time for a face-to-face appointment where we will talk about treatment options.
There is a waiting list for our services. The wait time is different depending on the service needed.
