All children having surgery will come to theatre through the children's surgical admissions ward. Children’s surgical admissions is staffed by a dedicated children’s nursing team.

What to expect
We have:
- 3 rooms for admitting children
- 2 rooms that provide a quiet space for older children or those who require a low stimulus environment
- areas for teenagers and adolescents.
A large, enclosed play area in the children’s admitting area will keep little hands and minds occupied before procedures. It is also a good distraction for siblings who may need to be present.
This area also has spaces for a range of age and health needs.
