When to go to ED


After hours and urgent medical care

If your health emergency is not life threatening, but you cannot wait for an appointment with your usual doctor or healthcare provider, go to an after hours or urgent medical centre. They can help you with things like bad cuts, sprains or breaks, minor head injuries, or if you are feeling really sick. You do not need an appointment but might have to wait.

For after hours care at Golden Bay Community Health Centre, call 03 525 0060 at any time to talk to a registered nurse.

Monday to Friday

You can get urgent care during Golden Bay Community Health Centre's open hours of 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

There is no dedicated after hours on site between 6pm and 8:30am, Monday to Friday. If you turn up during these hours you may have to wait to be seen.

Weekends and public holidays

After hours drop-in clinics are open 10am to 1pm on Saturdays and public holidays.

There are no after hours or urgent medical care services at Golden Bay Community Health Centre outside this time, including Sunday. If you need help during this time, call 03 525 0060 to talk to a registered nurse.

Wrinklies Express health shuttle

Wrinklies Express is a member-only health shuttle service providing transport to medical appointments ta Golden Bay Community Health Centre for people over 50, and disabled persons. Users pay an annual subscription and are asked to make a donation for each trip.
