Bleeding in early pregnancy and the Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic (EPAC)

… specialist service for women experiencing pain and bleeding in early pregnancy, when the pregnancy is of an unknown location.

Women with gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD), also known as molar pregnancy, and women with a confirmed miscarriage are also patients at the clinic.

The EPAC service includes early pregnancy ultrasound, diagnostic tests, counselling and management planning. This service is an outpatient clinic and is open Monday to Friday.

New Zealanders, especially our children, are fortunate to benefit from a free to low cost public health system. But there’s not a limitless pot of funding for some of the items needed to provide care.

We have over 900 patients in Waikato Hospital on any given day. If you are in hospital that means you are really unwell or seriously injured. Some of the whānau who need care sadly don’t have much at all.

… Thames Hospital, Tokoroa Hospital, Te Kuiti Hospital and Taumarunui Hospital and provide hospital and outpatient services. Continuing Care facilities at Morrinsville (Rhoda Read) and Te Awamutu (Matariki) also provide inpatient physiotherapy care to patients.

Physiotherapy services work from community bases in Raglan, Ngaruawahia, Morrinsville, Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Putaruru, and Hamilton, as part of community health teams.

Orthotic Services

… provider of orthotic services to the DHB and is a collaborative entity formed between the New Zealand Artificial Limb Service and Orthotic House to provide modern comprehensives services.

The Waikato DHB will be transitioning orthotic service users (patients) to the new provider commencing in mid-September 2018 as part of its Orthotics Transition project.

Orthotic Service Waikato offers an on-line referral process for delegated prescribers.
