In the first instance we encourage primary health care to contact their Primary Health Care Organisation (PHO) Diabetes Nurse/Clinician.

Waikato primary birth facilities - labour, birth and postnatal care during COVID-19

… have a high suspicion of COVID-19, are awaiting a COVID-19 test result or have tested positive for COVID-19.
Women and their support person/partner will be screened for COVID-19 when they arrive.
Please do not arrive at a birth centre in labour before contacting your LMC first. Your LMC will talk to you to assess what stage of labour you are in. Your LMC may also come and assess you at home. Your LMC will make arrangements to meet you at the birth centre.
