These are held every Thursday from 12.30 to 1.30pm, preceded by a light lunch available from 12 noon for those attending the Grand Round.
Grand Round has traditionally been a continuing medical education forum for local and visiting speakers from a range of disciplines, and an opportunity for junior and senior hospital medical staff to present on behalf of their departments.
The Grand Round programme is always “subject to change” in order to accommodate speakers requirements, and to utilise opportunities of visiting guest speakers.
Grand Round is transmitted direct to Thames Hospital, and is recorded for viewing by staff on the Hospital Intranet at a later date.
These are held approximately twice a month commencing at 6.00pm to 9.pm – a light dinner is provided.
The session content is suitable for junior doctors, trainee interns, consultants, and general practitioners. Practice nurses and other allied health professionals may also attend.
The non-assessed “refresher” courses commence at 5.00pm and finish at 10pm. Pre-registration is required as course numbers are limited.
Course dates are available on request.
For anyone requiring the fully assessed Certificate of Resuscitation and Emergency Care (CORE) course – level 7 and over – please contact Rob Sinclair at the Waikato Clinical Skills Centre – email Rob.Sinclair@waikatodhb.health.nz
Please note: These courses are not available for non-medical personnel.
