Community health transport options - community shuttles and buses from rural towns

There are a number of DHB funded health transport services which provide transport to and from Waiora Waikato Hospital Campus from all the main towns and many smaller settlements across Waikato.
The services are not necessarily free.  You may be asked to make a contribution towards the cost of your trip.

There are other non-funded community transport providers, Intercity buses, etc. You can also check with your local Citizens Advice Bureau(external link).

Find out which is the nearest hospital entrance to your clinic appointment or other destination (refer to the campus map) and ask the taxi driver to drop you there. This will avoid a long walk.

The ward or clinic receptionist will help you call a taxi when you leave, if you do not have a mobile phone yourself.
