Fresh Future is a national fundraising appeal that raises funds through Progressive Enterprises supermarkets and Dick Smith Stores throughout the country for 10 NZ hospitals.
Now in its fourth year, the appeal has raised more than $3million for NZ children since 2007 with $410,000 going to Waikato.
The 2010 appeal will officially launch in the Waikato region in August with a celebration at Waikato Hospital.
From then, for 13 weeks, staff and customers of Foodtown, Woolworths, Countdown, SuperValue, FreshChoice and Dick Smith Electronics stores will raise funds for 10 hospitals nationwide.
Waikato District Health Board is extremely grateful to Fresh Future because of the added benefit that money raised provides to Waikato children’s health. Last year the DHB purchased a range of equipment for Waikato Hospital children areas and DHB community services.
Waikato DHB staff are supporting the Fresh Future 2010 appeal with denim.
Starting 4 June, Fridays will be known as Denim Days with all staff encouraged to wear their denim proudly and make a gold coin donation to Fresh Future.
Clinical staff (and those who aren't a fan of denim) are encouraged to purcahse a Denim Days sticker with their donation.
That's every Friday for the rest of the year.
Donation collection bucket locations are listed below; donations will be collected at 3pm each Friday.
Departments taking part in Denim Days that do not have a collection bucket are encouraged to pool their donations and deliver them to one of the locations listed above. Drop-off parking is available outside Hockin and Lomas Building.
