ENT (Ears, Nose and Throat)

The service treats conditions affecting the ear, nose and throat.  (In medical circles it is sometimes referred to as Otorhinolaryngology).  Major head and neck surgery is a key feature of the service.

ENT at Waikato Hospital places emphasis on day surgery where patients can have a procedure completed without having to stay in hospital.

The service shares the 16-bed inpatient (ward) area with Eyes (Ophthalmology).

There is also a close alignment with Audiology (hearing) which provides service to all age groups (including newborns) including audiology assessment, auditory brain stem response and other specialist assessments, hearing-aid assessment and fitting.
