Refugee and migrant screeningRefugee and new migrant health screening is a free and voluntary service for refugee family reunification immigrants and asylum seekers.

Free screening is available for:

  • Asylum seekers who have applied for refugee status in the last six months
  • Refugee family reunification immigrants arrived in New Zealand within the last six months, who are living in the Waikato

Screening includes:

  • A full health screen by a GP
  • A dental check and urgent dental treatment
  • Professional interpreters
  • Blood tests
  • Often a chest x-ray at the hospital
  • Urine and faeces tests
  • Urgent health treatment
  • Referrals to specialists or other services

Service hours

Monday and Tuesday 1pm-4.30pm and Wednesday 8am-4.30pm
