Mamagram feature2
Mamagram feature2

Hello all you Waikato mamas, mothers, mummas and mums!

This campaign is about encouraging and supporting you to have a regular mammogram - a breastscreen check.
And we are asking daughters to talk about this with their mamas and support them to get it done!

If you are already enrolled in the national Breastscreen Aoteraroa programme, CONGRATULATIONS!

If not, and you are 45 to 69 years old, then now is a really good time to do it, and to get your mammogram.

It's simple 3 step process:

  1. Check if you are eligible (detals below) and make sure you are enrolled in the national programme
  2. Make an appointment if you are due for a mammogram, or haven't ever had one
  3. Turn up and get it done!  You are welcome to bring someone along for support. It is quick, free and it is an x-ray of both your breasts.

Over the next few weeks we will be encouraging you, explaining what happens, busting the myths and giving you the facts.

PLUS we have two competitions on the go...

You could be the lucky draw winner!

Eligible Waikato women who have a mammogram between 20 April and 20 June 2015 will be included in a randomised draw.

  • The draw will be done before the end of June, and the winner will be notified.
  • The winner will receive $200 worth of gift vouchers.
  • A condition of winning is consent by the winner to be interviewed and photographed by the Waikato District Health Board media team, and to have the resulting story published on the Waikato DHB’s Newsroom website and distributed on social media.

The aim of this promotion is to encourage more eligible women to become part of the Breast screening programme. You can help by spreading the word.

Selfie competition

Be proud of your mammogram!  Help us spread the word!

Post up an “I’ve done it” selfie photograph on our campaign Facebook page myMAMAgram after you have had your mammogram, and you could be the winner of a free hair makeover from one of Hamilton’s leading salons, Kitzo.

  • The selfie must include a woman who has had a mammogram between 20 April and 20 June 2015 at Breast Care Centre (Waikato Hospital campus) or Angelsea Women’s Health, or at one of the Breastscreen Mobile Units in the Waikato.
  • Please include this “I’ve done it” flyer in the photo if you can.
  • The selfie must be posted on the official Waikato campaign Facebook page myMAMAgram.
  • It can include the woman only, or the woman with her daughter or other relative, or with a friend.
